Ever wonder how the Instagrammers and Facebookers with the most followers look amazing when they are doing live videos? HINT: They use the RIKI SKINNY. #lightingiseverything is a fact.

You, too, can be a pro when it comes to the quality of your live videos. With the RIKI SKINNY, you'll also be free to take these live videos hands-free wherever you might be. During our GLAMCOR GIVEAWAY contest in August 2017, we went live on Instagram each day of the contest. We used our RIKI SKINNY in our conference rooms, at our desks, and even at a restaurant (The Spotted Pig, NYC) for the last update on the giveaway.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO LOOK GREAT ON LIVE VIDEO?

Most people are equipped with a smartphone with a great front-facing camera. Once you mount your phone to the mirror your next step is to turn on the lights and get filming. You will see immediately the difference of having beautification lighting versus the faint glow from your phone screen.

    GET YOUR ANGLE CORRECT!

When filming a live make sure you don't film with your phone under your chin. This will mean the camera is pointing up at you, and this will make you look unflattering and heavier than you really are. Position your phone so your camera is facing straight at you or even down at you a little bit. You can elevate the mirror if need be, and remember that the adjustable stand and extra room in the phone clip will help you angle your phone as vertical as can be.

    DON'T USE TOO MUCH LIGHT.

Just because the RIKI SKINNY is super bright doesn't mean you need all of it all the time. Depending on the ambient light conditions, you may only need the first two levels of the five levels of brightness. Smart phone cameras today will adjust for the additional brightness, and it may not have any value to your live video.

    STAY CHARGED UP!

Video tends to run down the battery on your phone. If you plan on a long live video, plan ahead with a full 100% charge if you're not going to be near a power source. If you are near a power source, you can charge your RIKI SKINNY and your phone together using the dual USB charger included with your mirror.

    STAY STEADY.

The more you move your phone around and distract followers from your message (you!), the faster you will lose engagement. Keep your phone and mirror stable as much as possible. If you are doing a walk and talk live video with the RIKI SKINNY, remember that your viewers only see through your camera. More stability = better engagement.

    WATCH YOUR FOLLOWERS GROW.

More stable, properly lit live videos will definitely help get new followers. Experiment with different content, and be reasonable about the number of live videos you are doing. Keep your best ones on your Instagram story.
